I think that just about sums up my weekend. It’s amazing how much I have come to depend on my internet connection, even for the little things, such as the weather and the TV schedule. It of course dropped at the most inconvenient time, midday Saturday and reappeared first thing Monday morning. I received £10 for my troubles from Virgin Media (internet provider), but this doesn’t get me back my missed game time.
So all weekend when Skarmedidoc was sitting at 37.63 (Not that I am counting), I was thinking that there was a strong possibility I would cap out my rested XP. Now I am assuming there is a cap and it’s about 1 levels worth of xp. If you know exactly what it is, then please let me know, thanks.
So Monday night (last night), I logged on with the clearly defined goal of burning off the rested XP that I had accumulated since last Thursday. So I grabbed Skar by the scruff of the neck and dragged him into Praag. Now I have already been to chapter 21 and accumulated 2.5 bubs of PQ influence, leaving 0.5 to be obtained on PQ related quests. So I jumped to chapter 19 and spent about 1.5 hours building 2 bubs of PQ influence there. Dinging 38 in the process, which was a sub goal of the evening.
Now I did join up with an ironbreaker and witch hunter, which while slowing down the xp gain, did make the 2nd and 3rd stages of the PQ doable. They were actually added to my friends list, which is a bit unusual for me.
I then trotted of to chapter 20, since I still had rested xp to use up. This is the first order camp in the Chaos Wastes and it does seem to have been shoe horned into that space on the map. To be fair I had only gone there with the sole purpose of finding a PQ and just hammering out the PQ influence and the remaining rested XP, so I really didn’t have much chance to explore. I finally had to log after playing for about two and a quarter hours, moving Skar from 37.62 to 38.31, with rested xp still to use up. So who knows where it will take me before running out.
So this kind of explains why no blog posts for the last few days.
I have a real desire to hit 40 now, my fellow guildie Xen hit 40 over the weekend and he was playing a girly Archmage. I have really got to be the last in the guild without a 40. Obviously my fellow guildies are being sympathetic, especially considering they are very mature individuals .. cough cough “Bunch of children” cough.
On a side note, I am about to have a loft conversion start, so I am unsure on how best to incorporate it into my blog, if at all. I will probably just mention it in passing, depending on how stressed I am with it’s progress.
It’s really the data/satelite/tv/ip phones that I am running through it that’s making it slightly more complicated, the cabling needs to be on the button, because once the walls/floors are down, that’s it, I stuck with what I have in place. Things like patch panels, managed switches, a pbx server are required to get it all up and running.
So I will have a slightly split focus for a couple of months. Ho Hum.
This obviously means that I am going to have to put off building my new gaming PC. Since it was going to be using DDR3 and an I7 920, this in itself is not such a bad thing, since the prices on these are only going one way and that is down. I just can’t fit everything into the time available. Where is Jamie Maddox when you need him.
Bummer about your internet going down man.
I believe that rested xp caps out at 1.5 ranks.
Good luck on the grind to 40!
For a grind, it’s rather quick once I get into the zone, for which I have “Sex On Fire” by the Kings of Leon. Subsitute Sex for Runepriest.
When I am playing at the moment, each equal level kill is giving me 0.2% 1800xp (Using Warboard addon). So if I am doing 4/5 kills a minute, that gives me roughly 400K an hour. But I lose time when I have to jump to another chapter to accumulate influence.
I really can’t complain, it’s going pretty well. Of course accepting my internet remains stable. Just need to get the wife to bed early tonight. Though I think she is beginning to suspect my motives about getting her to bed early.
