It’s amazing what a double rp bonus can do for your mood. Karak-Norn was reasonably busy and even though I think I had just one zone flip each evening, getting 25K (Sat) and 22K (Sun), it was good to see the bar move. Even the scenarios seemed to be rewarding me, even when I lost.
The funny thing was the lack of RR80+’s I saw over the weekend. Maybe it’s the time of month, but everyone seem to be sub 80. I thought that it could be people hammering away at their alts while we had all these bonuses. Just seem strange that’s all.
I have settled into the new Worn armour nicely and with higher toughness, wounds and armour, I definitely feel I am hanging on for 2/10’s of a second longer.
I’ve not really got a lot to say about 1.4.1. It was more than a maintenance patch, because there was a lot more than fixes, however a lot of the changes may not affect your main, just your alts, they really depend on where you’re at with Warhammer. Maybe that’s why there were so many alts? New RR banding on the tiers, new armour, double bonus. I’d loved to know how Tier 3 has been, since 1.41.?
There was some RL good news last week. I have been offered a job, which after taking a year and a bit off while my daughter progresses to the ripe old age of 3 and pre school, was a good feeling. I definitely had a few days (being 40+) wondering if my legacy set of development skills would ever get me back into work. Just need to sort out some after school care and I will be happy. Having free time and no money, while the wife pays the bills isn’t always great. So onwards and upwards.
Without a doubt I think that the new job will have an impact on the blog during the week, once I start. So I will have to see how it goes. To be honest, the news is slow on the Warhammer front at the moment, with little indication on how things will pan out in the next 6 – 9 months.
I feel my new Worn Sov has made a difference. TTK seems to have gone right up for everyone. Fights have been lasting a long time – even too long. Even when getting kills or killed it was hard to wipe completely.
Well done on the new job Skar. That is very great news.
Back to WAR, I thought 1.4.1 was a great patch, a fixer patch like you said. Just way, way overdue! If they can get 2 patches out before May, a 1.4.1a with some more armour balancing, and then a 1.4.2 with some campain tweaks and some class balancing then I think we will be okay. I don’t think that’s a big IF either.
Congrats on yor job again though, that is more important 🙂
2 Patches before May, that would be nice. I think 1.4.2 before the end of April would be ideal, but I think May would be more realistic.
Grats on the job.
On the WAR-side of life.. TTK is terrible low when you face a rr90 group. The only thing that makes the fights longer is if you happen to have rr90+’s in your group..preferable melee-dps in def-gear. Everything else just evaporates.
Yesterday I saw a def-tank in full-sov die within a single gcd. That was not even a big assist-train, just 2 dps focusing on him. That is not even uncommon..
Maybe it’s because I haven’t seen a lot of RR80s since the patch.
You are in your usual over-optimistic (for my tastes) mood it seems. Wish I could be too, but as soon as I read of or remember destruction in full DF (soon WF) pwning my helpless face off I lose any and all desire to resub and play.
Someone save WAR please.
I’m not overly optimistic. Take for example …
“I definitely feel I am hanging on for 2/10′s of a second longer”
That’s irony there.
You can’t be negative all the time and to be honest, it’s a lot harder to create than destroy. If they cock up, I’ll give Mythic a hard time.
1.4.1 was more than a maintance patch. It didn’t add new things, it rejigged things, especially in the RR arena. That’s not maintenance in my eye, it’s more than that.
It’s hard to be optimistic with the current outlook for WAR. I didn’t mean it as criticism, it was merely a remark.
I’m not pessimist imo, rather a realist. 1.4.1 would be fine as a patch if the game worked. But it’s quite verilly broken atm. There are tons of things that need fixing and Mythic are either not acknowledging their mistakes and pinpointing the problems or fixing them in a completely wrong way.
As you said, what 1.4.1 did is only a marginal improvement and only for now. And they seem to be taking wrong steps for the future patches (PvE content).
I’ve been rooting for WAR for the past 2 years. I’ve used up all the optimism I had.
I think that there will be some new form in Zen-Meditaition..called Warhammer-Online 😉
This games sucks up every bit of optimism since release.. it’s really hard to stay optimistic when you look at what Mythic did and ..announced to do.
You are right that patch 1.4.1 would be good if the game would be working..but as long as some melee dps are harder to kill than a tank, this game will stay broken. And we all know that there are a lot of additional points on that “broken”-list which need to be fixed better sooner than later..
