It has been a good month or so in the life of Skarmedidoc (RP), as he’s crawled his way from 40 to 50, with 51 barely a stones throw away (2 levels over the weekend). Now this puts me within spitting distance of the invader armour set, which I should be excited about, if the keep loot system would actually give me some invader crests. I’m not completely sure what I’ve done to annoy the God Of Loot, but I think a system bug is at the bottom of this problem. The forums seem to think so, but I’ve not seen an acknowledgement from Mythic on this issue (Found it, dated 26/11), though to be fair I haven’t looked that hard. I hope there is a gesture from Mythic, when they finally stomp the buglet.
Even before this problem raised its ugly head, I was a wee bit concerned about the acquisition rate of invader crests, once my accelerated RP gain was factored in, post 1.4. I have 3 bits of invader amour already and plenty of officer tokens, but a low count in everything else. Has invader armour become my 1.4’s achilles heel, just like conquerors was with pre 1.4? Will I merely end up bypassing invader and going straight into Warlord? I did seem to get 5 Warlord crests when we took the zone yesterday afternoon, when I was a newly capped level 50.
As a little test yesterday, I wanted to see how much RP I could accumulate while sitting on my fat ass outside of camp, during an extended period of RL paperwork. I think I got about 15% of 50, over about a period of 1 -2 hours. Of course I needed a zone to be taken to make it really workout. So sitting on your ass, seems to be a viable strategy in Warhammer at the moment.
One question I’d like answered though. Is AAO based on the local area in a ORvR zone, or is the complete zone? Because if it’s a complete zone, then that’s pretty annoying based on the number of leechers/campers I see outside of the warcamps. I would say, extend the no bonus zone, if such a thing existed in the warcamp, but then people would go further out and even if they died, they’d just end up in the keep, safe from any threat to their ill-gotten gains, while distorting the AAO for the hard-working players on the front line. It’s a problem and it needs fixing, though to be honest I’m not sure there is an easy fix, beyond logging people out.
I do wonder if anyone has written an add-on, which will just display the levels of each keep in each active pairing. Ideally the status of the doors on the keep would be nice, then I could just switch off from playing the game completely and turn up to reap the rewards. I’m not sure what the criteria are for getting the keep bonus are, but I’ve found that if you are in the area of your own keep as your side take the opposing keep, you get the keep bonus, as well as the zone flip bonus. Which makes sense, since you wouldn’t want to be punished for providing valuable keep defense duties, cough, cough. I’m being ironic btw.
A couple of people I play with, have commented on the no. of RR80’s out at the moment and I gather there is a RR83 already, which I’m sure has already been surpassed. Good to see that people are willing to give up vitamin D in the search of electronic fame.
It’s also good to see the back of The Eternal Citadel again (Good to see Hadrune showed no mercy in there with the rest of HoB), since it’s merely an extended farming session for the people who already do enough farming as it is. I resent being made to put up with that scenario, just to acquire insignia at a reasonable rate. I’d like Mythic just to cough up an insignia bonus via the RvR Progression pack, or make the 2nd stage drop for weekend scenario’s, a bonus insignia item. Give me a choice please.
