Please note: Access to Thanquol’s Incursion will be gated by your Renown Rank only. You will not have to purchase any of the boosters in order to participate in the dungeon. The only requirement you need to meet is that your RR65+.
Yep, it’s part of the 1.4 patch and not conditional on you having purchased the correct RVR pack, which when I put it like that, I can’t imagine it being any other way.
I know a few people have complained about Thanquols Incursion being a gated community, where it’s restricted to those RR65+. Well I have to be honest, I’ll not be sorry to see those in the RR65+ tiers disappear for a while. What may not have been considered by the general populace, is what impact this will have on the ORvR in that zone. Mythic wouldn’t have put a restriction like this in place without their being a logical reason, no matter what some of my intellectually challenged realm mates may think.
If I was to hazard a guess, more than a few minutes will have been spent looking at the distribution of the RRs currently involved in ORvR, seeing what effect a change of this nature would have to number of people in the zones, if the RR65+ were effectively stripped away. I’d imagine will see some interesting changes in resource flow, when the top tiers of players disappear. How many of the BO’s are currently being taken by high RR players?
Lets look at this dungeon as being an opportunity to level the playing field for a while in ORvR? I know I often feel I’m pissing in the wind trying to kill some of the higher RR’s.
I did notice within the ongoing Thanquol thread, that there is a bug limiting the number of instances for this dungeon to 1, which answers my question from yesterday about their being 1 or more instances running. Now I just need to know the relationship being the dungeon based Siphon and it’s related BO, when more than 1 instance of the dungeon is running.
On the final note, it appears that no matter what Mythic do, it’s never going to be right. I appreciate that I hand out a bit of verbal where Warhammer is concerned, but I tend to view the game as my bastard child. Now others seem to never let go of the disappointment they felt with the game since it’s launch. Without doubt some points are valid, but you know you have to let it go and embrace the game it now is. It’s never going to be perfect since it’s PvP based and your experience is very much dependant on circumstance, so let it all flow out.
