I’d rage quit if everybody else in the city seige scenario hadn’t already done so before me. But if I’m the last person in a siege scenario would anyone really care about my show of virtual petulance? Okay I’d admit it wasn’t that bad, but after 5 attempts at winning a city seige, I’m starting to see certain patterns appear, none of which I like. This is coming from a person, who’s never quit a scenario in all the time I’ve played, no matter how depressed I’ve felt.
As I mentioned previously, the first one was the pre start scenario hoppers. Those individuals who’ll change scenario until they find the one which the gods have most likely blessed for victory. Which I imagine will be one rammed full of level 40’s in opted groups and kick ass armour. Yes, yes you’re looking for your mates… blah blah blah.
The second is the 7.5 minute rule followers. If by the time 7.5 minutes have passed in the 1st stage and there isn’t every sign that it’s going to be a walk in the park, they’ll just take a hit on the quitter debuff and sign up for another. Now this has the downside of leaving the rest of your side in the lurch and as it snowballs, turns it from a one-sided fight into an utter rout. Which is what I experienced in my 5th city seige on Wednesday night. About 25 minutes spent doing my best, while a lot of people just F**ked off and with just about 2K worth of xp gained. Now this isn’t a good return on time invested by any stretch of the imagination. Is it always going to be a one-sided slaughter-house or is a middle ground of equally matched opponents duking it out, just a distant dream?
Could we maybe have a sliding scale of competition, where the more you murder the opposing side through the stages, then the more people the other side can call on to defend? Yeah I know, it’s a crap idea but it was off the hoof.
PS – How bloody hard is it use the flag teleporters in a city siege scenario? So why do so many people feel the need to traipse across the streets like a bunch of lemmings. If you want a tip for the loading screens, that would be a great one to add.
