I think you can work out where I sit on this particular issue, definitely no fence-sitting for me. Now if you’re not in Europe, this annoyance of mine may not affect you, but here in Europe, as soon as you subscribe you’re on auto renew.
GOA in their niceness at least tell you that your account will now auto renew at the bottom of the subscription page. Isn’t that jolly decent of them? But do you know what would be really nice, an auto renew tick box when you subscribe!!! Revolutionary I know. Let’s be honest, in the grand scheme of things, this isn’t going to be like decoding the human genome.
Now the reason I had moved off auto renew in the past, was that I didn’t get an email toward the end of my current subscription, telling me that I was about to be auto renewed. So I could be billed at an in opportune moment, which when I was working wasn’t a problem, now it is. Surprisingly I got an email to tell me that I had auto renewed, marvelous. Again it appears a challenge to far for their backroom boys and girls.
What amuses me slightly, is that GOA are able to tell me that my subscription has run out. No surprise there. Yet somehow lack the programming ability to inform me when it’s ABOUT to run out.
Now this only leads me to think ill of Warhammers hosting company in Europe (GOA), since the way the emails are programmed to appear, indicates a certain bias towards acquiring payment in a sometimes less than upfront manner.
Sorry, but I needed to get that off my chest.
