Who would have thought I would ever have made a year. I certainly didn’t. I honestly never had an inkling that there was so much rubbish for me to talk about. But I managed it, much to the bemusement of my wife.
So after 1 year, I have the following statistics:-
1. Posts 193
2. Views 9985
It’s been a lot of work, which has been fun for the most part and chore for the rest. As much as I’ve enjoy writing posts which have generated a lot of reads (That’s from my standpoint), it’s the posts where people have made to an effort to express a view, that have really made it worthwhile. This has never been a high traffic blog, but it’s been nice for the traffic to grow a little bit at a time. Normally at the expense of other better blogs closing their door.
At the moment, I’m not sure if the blog has run its course. I enjoy Warhammer and will continue to play, but I’m unsure that I wish to write much more about it. The rest of my life keeps intruding into my writing time and strangely enough since I became mostly unemployed, I’ve less time to write and play Warhammer. It’s amazing how useful going to work can be, to get the creative juices flowing. Start a post in the morning at work and just finish off at the end of the day.
There are a few more things that I’m going to comment on, but the pipeline from Mythic has run a bit dry at the moment. I do really wish that things had been different in terms of subscriptions for Warhammer/Mythic and GOA, but it’s not been a good 14 months for this title from a fiscal/staffing standpoint. The games improved immensely, in spite of what the naysayers would have you believe, but it’s hard for people to give anything a second chance, especially when there is so much other stuff out there, that doesn’t require a subscription.
