Yep, a post from Andy@Mythic on the warhammer online boards, has basically put the kibosh on any full review of the white lion/marauder classes until August at the earliest. If you notice, it’s in red so it’s got to be important, cough, cough.
Now as a white lion player, I’ve had my character (Modhran@Lvl28) in “rested” mode for a while now, mainly because the 1.3 patch was going to bring in a major review. Well that’s gone by wayside now. So if we are looking at August at the earliest, for any real development, then realistically no changes will be coming our way until September/October time. Heh it may be November/December time, especially given the outline of upcoming priorities that Hickmeister gave in Part 3 of his Executive Producers Letter, and to which Andy gave reference to.
Now what confused a lot of people, has been the mixed signals that have been coming out of the development department via the forums, about what had been slated for redress. Mythic have obviously had the situation of the right hand not knowing what the left hand has been doing/saying.
So finally for what is meant to be an experienced software company, they are going to only talk about absolute certainities and not just the maybes. Which while creating less of a buzz, will engender less disappointment. Of course this will lead to people whining about their class seemingly not being dealt with, but if you don’t promise something, it can’t be thrown back in your face. Lets be honest, gamers on the best of occassions behave like insane rabid dogs and MMO crowds can be the most virulent. Patience isn’t a virtue that is highly featured in our C.V.’s.
While on the subject of the White Lion, a fellow guildie reckons he has a killer spec., which I am going to try when I have time. Now it may have been picked up somewhere else, but who cares, I will give it a whirl and report back.
It’s been a busy old week, with a changing of the guard. Let’s hope that under Dr Rays stewardship we don’t have a shaving of costs/numbers and he is given by EA a new opportunity to expand the war. You certainly don’t change the organ grinder (Refer to Winston Churchill comment in the link), if you want things to carry on as they were.
