I have returned from Rome, alive, if mildly disappointed with my teams sorry excuse for a performance against Barcelona. However the right team won and there were no complaints from any of the Man Utd fans who travelled to the match. Rome was nice, if slightly to warm and the food was good. The beer was very expensive, somewhere in the £5 a pint region. I will never complain about London prices ever again (I lied).
When I finally got back onto the PC again (gaming wise), which wasn’t really until Sunday night, I got straight back into my KotBS grove. Well it’s hardly a complicated character to play at this level. Now there hadn’t been a really a massive impetus to get the ball rolling again. I knew I was going to enjoy myself when I finally got on, but there was no burning desire. Maybe that’s my willpower finally kicking in, after 40+ years.
I first of all checked the guild forums, for any Warhammer related news posts, but was delighted to find nothing had really happened. At least there hadn’t been a major blowups in 3 days. In a way it was a bit of a shame, since it gives me something easy to comment on, but c’est la vie. Notice a bit of French and Latin in the same post. Are you feeling intellectually stretched yet?
I did notice over at Werits that he had posted a couple of screen shots from the 1.3 PTS test, which were directly related to the resource portion of LofD. There was a screen shot of his engineer handing in a expedition resource, which then rewarded him with 1 renown. Now this kind of implies that these resources will only drop in RVR combat. Which does kind of validate the worries that people had raised about, about how do you flip control if the other side doesn’t come out to play? I did kind of pooh pooh them, so I may well have egg on my face on this one. I seriously can’t imagine Mythic could fail with such a simple conceptual problem. I also hope that Mythic don’t expect you to hand the resources in 1 at a time, that’s just so last decade.
Oh yes, while I was in Rome I decided to watch Angels & Demons, which I thought was strangely appropiate place to watch it. As plots go in a film, it was relatively transparent. Personally I would wait until it comes out on dvd.
