I was reading a very interesting post by Adam Gershowitz on the Warhammer Online boards, that was dealing with combat maths and the problems of coping with Min/Max users versus the average player, with regard to spike damage abilities, like executes.
If you have the time, then read it, you will be educated and that’s never a bad thing. The basics of it are, that you have to make the spike damage worthwhile, yet not have it scale off the chart if people are maxing out certain stats. Which is why they are going to auto crit certain attacks, after dropping the base damage down. So crits are taken out of the equation and the damage goes from average joe (2000) to min/maxer (2900) for example (before armour is considered). Like I said, it’s nicely explained in the link.
If you have any suggestions, then send them to Mythic, making sure you have run it through the calculator and allowed for the various tactic modifiers.
