It appears Mythic have retracted the winds of change modification and will be looking further for system improvements to resolve server stability issues.
Good god this has been ineptly handled. Are the people in Mythic at any point sitting down to discuss the ramifications of the changes they are planning?
Do you know what this says to me. We didn’t want to work that hard at fixing the real problem and so we were going to rip some code from the fortress modification and apply that. Seriously it’s shocking how easily Mythic are shooting themselves in the foot, at the moment. The 2 steps forward, 1 step back process going on here (Yes I know some of you are thinking the reverse, but try and be positive eh). Yeah yeah I know you can say, they are listening to the customer base and reacting accordingly. But jesus, how hard would it have been to anticipate the hackles raised by the winds of change modification.
Next time Mythic, if your reality perception is going a little bit off track in the US, give me a call and you can run your plans by me for healthy dose of common sense, if we need a 2nd opinion I can ask my 18 month old daughter (Please note she does charge, her consultancy rates are shockingly high).
The news of this changes reversal has come from a GOA source. I did check the Warhammer Herald, but it was strangely devoid of any related news. I do wonder, if this will entail an ass kicking from Mythic, about breaking the good news outside the normal channels.
Engineering to bridge, out.
It was buried on the Herald at the bottom of one of their routine server maintenance announcements.
Ah, that’s why I didn’t see it. I imagined that Mythic eating a bit of humble pie, would have entailed an announcement on a similiar scale. Silly me.
