From my previous post, it’s certainly not happening in tier 4 at the moment. I just don’t have the time to spend chasing my tail, looking for RPs and battle in ORvR, especially if it’s ending up with a one sided massacres, with me being on the receiving end. You need some carrots in your life, it can’t be just the stick.
However regardless of my general malaise with the endgame, this isn’t to say I have time to be bored. There is shed-loads to do on the lower tiers, different ways of leveling up those those various characters I have sitting at level 1, with their names already set. For instance I have just finished off my White Lion to 28 and started off my Knight of the Blazing Sun (KotBS), whom is now level 8, with a target level of 18. I tried to get twister to work, but it does seem to automatically rotate the 3 auras I have chosen. Maybe it’s a bit more hands on than I initially thought, I may have to actually press a key, shock horror.
Before I carry on, I would like to pass a comment on my white lion character. It’s not been that fulfilling. The pet is annoying and simply not fun to deal with, it’s always late to the fight and really doesn’t seem to leap into action. Now there are rumours of some changes in the wind for patch 1.3, but I am going to manage my expectations and simply wait to see what comes down the line. I think that by hanging onto just one particular character, you can get bitter about the direction of changes or lack of changes, at a pace you feel is necessary.
Now pets have never been Mythics strong point, at least in my opinion. Though in their defence I haven’t played many other pet classes, apart from a level 1-70 warlock in WoW. I never felt the felguard was as lacking in responsiveness or was as tardy as my white lion.
I cast my mind back to my DAOC bonedancer and the problems I had with them wandering off, or yoyoing around. However since Mythic had gone with one pet and static pets, I figured we were due an improvement. Well not really. Where’s Steve Polge when you need him. So I will park this character in tier 3, until I decide to move him all the way to 40.
What’s been nice with my KotBS, is that I have been mixing it up within tier 1 empire, some PVE, some scenarios and some ORvR. I really struggle to understand people who found they were running out of content. New Emshrank has been a quite enjoyable, straight forward ORvR environment. There does seem to be plenty of action, whenever I am around.
What I did notice, which was quite clever, was the Decimator armour set for tier 1, was just 2 pieces, shoes and chest. Which is handy (by design perchance, could beeee), since you zoom through tier 1 so quickly, you can only just about manage to accumulate those 2 pieces. I may pop off to Altdorf when I am 10, to see if I can buy the chest piece, if lady luck doesn’t wave her magic wand on poor auld Eldric.
Already I am considering creating 2 sets of armour, for this character, one for DPS – 2 handed sword (Strength based) and one for tanking – 1 handed sword + shield (Wounds & Toughness). I can’t imagine that I will use the tanking one much, but their was a situation recently when trying to take down a champion at a BO with just one other character in support, that If I could have lasted just a while longer, we could have killed it.
My experiences with my rune priest, did teach me to appreciate the multiple suit approach. I think this time I will be using a new suit program, which for the love of god, I can’t remember at this time. But since closetgoblin isn’t being updated anymore, it’s time to park that applet for good. If I remember correctly, this other one, swaps the tactics as well.
Okay, small request for anyone in the know. Can you create a link to your character(s) on the www.war-europe.com character search, which when clicked upon actually works. I did search out my characters and pasted the link. However once I clicked on the link, I was taken to the initial character search, not my character. I hope this is not a flash issue.
