Well apart from frame rate issues in tier 4 keep sieges/zerg action, things are pretty good in my Warhammer life. Obviously I am a bit miffed that I find tier 4 for all intents and purposes unplayable, but that could be inadequate equipment at my end. Funnily the wife often mutters about my “equipment”, but I find it does the job for me. However my PC doesn’t fall into this category. I can’t fight genetics no matter what all those emails say, but PC rebuilds I can deal with. If after this it’s still unplayable, I know I will be less than amused as QE II says.
The performance is just sucky sucky at the moment in big battles. It’s like Mythic have the vision of this epic confrontational game, but the hardware and software can’t deliver it. I would really like Mythic to clearly state where they think they are at, in their own Performance PQ .
Anyways my white lion is now up to 23 and his renown rank is hovering around 18, so reasonably close together, which is good. So once Modhran is 28, I will make him my tier 3 character character. Oh yes I am getting really annoyed that the pet buffs keep dropping. Reading around, I have come to the conclusion it’s a general “Pet” issue and will be fixed soon.
A new character was created this weekend, Skarironfist, the slayer. Yes I was following the crowd, but I was intrigued to see what all the fuss was about. The one thing that bothers me, is that one second you have no rage, or whatever it’s called, next second it’s at the top and I am taking monster damage. I will definitely be looking for a better rage monitor add on, that sucker needs to be right in front of my eyes.
Now I don’t know whether it’s my poor clicking with my melee dps characters, but I am getting sick of the game seemly losing my selected target. It’s hard enough at my age to stay close to a target and click the relevent styles, without having to re-click the target.
Having said all that, I am enjoying myself when I log on and there is always plenty to do. Since I am spreading my characters out over the various tiers, I am positioning myself so I can cover all the options that the game has, whatever my guild is doing when I log on. The only thing that I am not doing is Open RVR. As I have often said, it’s not a good return on time.
We had our first warband night, last week and managed to field about 9/10 people. I was of course very late, but I was in discussion with the boss (wife) about bathroom/shower tiles, when all I was thinking about were my brothers/sisters on the battlefield. Well I have a short attention span when it comes to tiles and colours. I know what I don’t like and I have learnt that choosing a colour, is often a fast track to a repaint. I like to feel I have learnt from prior mistakes.
Hopefully warband night will grow, as people fix it in their diaries and realise that a guild warband is nicer experience in Tier 4 than a pug warband.
My final thing and it’s more about blogs, is that things seem to have quietened down a bit, apart from the Evil Waaagh still manages to produce blog entries like his life depends on it. Is this an indication of the game now being in a more stable place and being more fun to play, than rant about. I know that soon I will have less blog reading time, as I become a house husband and full time dad. I still can’t work out how my fellow house husbands manage to level so many characters.
