Well tonight was the 1st time I have visited the 3 level 40 dungeons of our fine capital city Altdorf. The dungeons were Sigmars Crypt, Warpblade Tunnels and another one which was a repeat of the Warpblade tunnels, so was instantly forgettable. +1 for dungeon count, -1 for interesting content, congratulations Mythic. It took the group about 4 hours to do all 3, which I actually felt was a reasonable time. I was the token gimp in the party, with much derision (in a friendly way) of my very substandard gearing, of which most had been given to me previously by my fellow guildies.
However, and this is the rub, if I said we got one piece of usable armour out of the whole trip, I imagine the experienced Warhammer pvers wouldn’t be surprised. I spent the night playing my healer and getting the crap kicked out of me. I was dropping like a sack of spuds through a chipping machine. Obviously this is down to the ward system, which is fair enough, but to come away with one piece of usable gear total, after a total time investment of 24 hours ( 6 players * 4 hours = 1 day), leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. So next time I go in, which will probably be Sunday night, I will be no further along than before and will still be the same liability I was before. At least I was playing with a good bunch of people, so the evening flowed along nicely and no Mythic that doesn’t let you off the hook.
Nowadays I have limited time and it’s only because the wife is away, I can throw together this chunk of time. But to achieve zip is not a rewarding experience. Now if I remember correctly or maybe it’s wishful thinking on my part, itemisation has been changed in 1.2. But I can’t honestly remember if it’s changing how it decides what items can be dropped by mob bosses. I swore I remember reading that one usable item will come of each boss.
Well I will soon find out, since 1.2 arrives on the 3rd of march in the US and the 4th here in Europe. So who knows I may be happy, for once.
