How many of you out there really know the hows, whats and wherefores of zone control? Hell I have made it to 40 and I am still clueless about what’s going on. Now granted I may well be alittle bit on the slow side, but I do feel I should be more knowledgeable about how everything fits together. Seriously if I was a soloer and I didn’t read the forums, then I’d honestly have no chance of linking the dots, that are the zone control mechanics.
What doesn’t help, is that the mechanism that controls zone flipping, is made up from multiple components (Keeps & BOs, Scenarios, Player Kills, Quests and Public Zones, Who controls the previous tier). At this time the proportion each contributes is currently unknown. Well luckily that’s about to change in 1.1.1 which arrives today. If you now wave your mouse over the top of the zone control bar, then the current break down of that zone should be shown.
Okay so that’s very nice, but 1.1.1 now implements a hard cap of level 37+ on fortress takes, now there are some other bits included which will probably prove more fundamental, but from a healers point of view the hard cap is going to be very useful. As I have mentioned previously, when you are in the middle of a raid and you are throwing heals all over the place, what you don’t track is whom is sucking up more than there fair share of heals. That’s what lower level characters become, healing sinks. I appreciate that this is really harsh, but that’s life.
The hps of the doors have been reduced in 1.1.1, however Mythic should have used their brains and tied the doors strength into the BO capture, unfortunately they have gone with the easiest change, when they could have allowed for a bit more strategy. The more linkages between BOs and keeps the better. Missed opportunity by Mythic.
