In a leveling sense, I am in a very good place. My leveling is flowing along very nicely, considering my limited play time. I can clear down a days worth of rested xp in about 30 – 40 minutes in a quality mob camp (That’s the rested xp rate gained from within the guild hall in Sigmars Tavern in Altdorf). I am jumping forward to higher chapters so I can walk out of the camp and quickly find mobs which are all higher than Skarmedidoc.
Now to other classes, killing mobs upto 3 levels above my characters level may seem normal (inside of 11 seconds) , but to my rune priest it’s really very nice. I have the kind of kill rate that I used to get on my Warlock in WoW, with very little downtime.
The abilities and tactics I am using seem be just on the button. So what am I doing? Well from a tactic point of view I currently have these up when I am leveling.
Divine Fury – You deal 25% more damage, but your healing is reduced by 20%.
Potent runes – Rune of immolation and Rune Of Striking are undefendable.
Runic Blasting – 15% increase in critical chance for Rune Of Striking, Rune Of Fire and Grunghi’s gift.
The spells I am using in this sequence are:-
1. Rune Of Immolation, instant cast, no cooldown, deals 426 Elemental damage over 15 seconds.
2. Rune Of Fire, instant cast, 5s cooldown, deals 195 Elemental damage.
3. Rune Of Burning, channeled, 11s, deals 344 Elemental damage over 6 seconds. 100% chance to be setback while casting.
NOTE – These damage numbers all come from wardb and are for a level 34 rune priest.
Occassionally I will start with the Rune Of Fate (Instant cast, 30s cooldown, Deals 1204 Elemental damage over 24 seconds and heals your defensive target for the amount of damage dealt), if I am tackling something 3 levels above me. Since it’s on a 30 second timer, I keep it back for these characters, since it helps keeps the kills within the 11 second reuse timer of the Rune Of Burning. I will also use the Rune Of Fate, if the Rune Of Burning gets disrupted.
Now don’t forget I have a set of armour specifically for leveling, it’s all intelligence based. So if you need to swap armour sets a lot, then grab closet goblin from Curse.
I really have no complaints with the PvE at this time. It’s amazing how seemingly rapid progress, can change a persons viewpoint of something I abhorred in the low 20’s. I have also started doing more scenarios again, since I have 2 pieces of armour that require level 29 and 35 in renown rank.
We also now have news of Mythic adjusting the XP amounts required for tier 3. So it seems like the xp curve has been flattened a bit. So all in all things are good, especially given I have just created a white lion. My only complaint is the armour graphics seem, mmmm how can I put this tactifully …. Crap.
