It was a good day to die or so the PvE mobs thought. Skarmedidoc is now 2/3’s through level 33 and has just finished chapter 14 of the Dwarf vs Greenskins pairing. I recently made the decision that I was going to focus on just one pairing, Empire vs Chaos, for the long haul to 40. I am hoping that there is going to be enough experience in the following 8 chapters, to make up 6.5 levels. On top of doing scenari and ORvR, of course.
While I have been working on my PvE leveling, I have devoted some of my spare time to talisman leveling. It annoys me, I have to be honest. Your have all these essences, which are made up from whispers and those intern come from combined echo’s. Why oh why are only the essences properly labelled with their crafting level. You have all these ingredients and they need to properly labelled.
Heaven forbid what talisman making would be like without Ezcraft, it’s made the crafting semi tolerable. I know that I put off any form of crafting for a while, since I couldn’t summon up any enthusiasm to start. Now that’s not a very good sign, now is it.
Now Ezcraft is part of the way to filling in some of the huge short comings of the Mythic attempt. However it would be much improved if it listed in a separate panel, all the talismans types you had previously created, with a number indicating the number that could be created based on the ingredients in your inventory. This is my major moan about crafting, yes it’s a system based on experimentation which is good, but should I need a pen and paper to record all my successful creations. Mythic pull your finger out and sort out those pox ridden crafting panels. It shouldn’t take a rocket scientist to realise that it’s sub standard. Email me and we can spend some time discussing user interfaces. That will be a cold day in hell me thinks.
I didn’t mean to diverge into a crafting rant, but you know sometimes you have to cauterise the wound, that’s what I am doing. I may need a shrink at this rate.
While I have been spending time in the auction house hunting for ingredients for salvaging, I have also been spending time going to my mail box. I get a lot of mail telling me I had been outbid and here is your money. Clunky ville is how I would describe the mail interface. Obviously the Mythic coder never had to deal with a lot of mail at the same time. I ended up firing off a couple of suggestions on simple improvements and a little buglet to do with taking items, followed by quickly attempting a delete.
Over the last weekend I did a wee bit of ORvR in Praag and what a lovely slide show it was. It’s merely hastened my decision to build my new gaming PC at the end of January. The CPU is dire need of some love and attention, given that it’s “only” an X2 4400 Athlon. But more on that nearer the time.
Enough drivel from me, I can hear a mince pie calling my name.
