Having created a much needed support class first, I now need to start looking at the possible options for my first alt. With Skarmedidoc closing in on 35, I am hoping I can RvR from there to 40, maybe with a few scenari thrown in for good measure.
The goal is simply to have another character in the 25 – 31 range, which would then allow me to RVR in tier 3 with any of our guild groups.
Now I have asked the guild to tell me what is currently on the shortlist. The initial indications are around a tank of some kind, which I believe covers an Ironbreaker (IB), Knight Of The Blazing Sun (KotBS) or a Swordmaster (SM). Now I aware of the current vogue for the KotBS and it’s strong leveling characteristics, but what concerns me mainly, is if the nerf bat makes a pass, I could end up with a turkey.
I have a strange inkling for the SM, however that maybe more to do with the fact I avoided the elf/dark elf racial pairing, when I was leveling my Runepriest. On the other hand all that green landscape may just do my head in. I could seriously end up putting a screwdriver through my ear. Ultimately I will try and level whatever is felt is best for the guild. It’s kind of irrelevant to me, each character will be an interesting experience. It’s just making sure that I get some hints and tips before hand. As I found with my rune priest, just getting a couple of specific abilities can make a world of difference.
One of the things we wanted when the guild started afresh in Warhammer, was plenty of support classes. It was the one area which always caused a problem in DAOC. So I am hoping that we have avoided that particular dilemma this time around.
