You’re probably wondering what I’m rambling on about again. Well it’s emblems and insignia. I swear to god I feel I’m in the foothills of the Himalayas and I’m looking up at the peak of Everest, and I’m already gasping for breath. Which translates to, I’m trying to save up for my 1st two-handed staff at 880 emblems, while having to get the trophy for the Invader insignia, beforehand.
To me it makes sense to start the process of acquiring Invader insignia’s while still saving for the baseline weapon. I’ll lose some int, with the lowest staff, but it’ll give me 4% more crit, which when combined with a few other items I have my eye on, I hope will push my crit up to 25%.
Now considering I started accumulating officer emblems at level 32+, I sometimes (read often) feel I’m making F*$k all progress. Of course having to PUG it , has a huge impact of the ye old success rate, but the lack of any real progress has really started to punch my buttons.
I normally feel more pain as the day progresses and more premades start appearing. It can often be an exercise in damage limitation. Looking to get into 100+, so a 2nd emblem can be obtained. Hell if I was on the other side of the fench, I’d be loving it.
Given my current forward momentum, I will probably skip the Invader emblem staff and just get the trophy to acquire the Warlord insignia. I just can’t see me acquiring enough to buy the trophy and the equivalent level staff. Plus the time required to do the high number of scenario’s does pull me away from ORvR more than I would really like.
I do sometimes wonder if the actual insignia and emblem requirements are a little bit to high. Even a very successful premade, would be looking at 200 wins, to get the higher level weapon.
At least I have no fear of not having a long-term goal with my emblem purchases. I will be intrigued to see what the insignia/emblem split will be, after I’ve completed another 100 scenarios.
Ask me my mood in about 2 more weeks, when I’ve completed another 100 scenario’s and the veins on my forehead are threatening to burst like a zit.
The insignia system feels faily balanced to me. My slayer that was above the Conqurer weapons will most likely get the Warlord 2H once I can use it, or close to it. Same on alts that run scenarios as the main source of leveling/pvp.
What seems really broken at the moment is medallions/crests. Healers that has no benefits at all from the conqurer/invader sets (dps sets) will need to grind/farm loads and loads and loads to get the useless sets just to unlock wards needed for PvE and the sets that are more useful (for healers). Or make dps/heal sets from conqurer and up, not just sovereign sets.

You get quick a lot of GGs so your progress is going to be more steady than mine, so maybe it’s a matter of viewpoint..
Later on getting the higher ones, invader/warlord/royal will be more important then the officer ones which is like 1-3 per scenario. So an average of 2 per scenario isn’t really that bad. Think I’m at 6xx officer and 2xx warlord at the moment, RR64.
And no, I don’t get that many guild premades.
I went straight for the Royal weapon skipping all the rest before it. I have more emblems than I need but saving for the 850 royals has been a long, long slog. I still need another 125!
Nearly 30 days played and I think the majority of my time has been spent in scenarios from level 1!
Mmmm, I don’t think I want to skip so much gear.

I have to say that I completely agree with you. A part of me feels like work should be rewarded, and gear shouldn’t just be handed out, but the nerdraging part of me wants to punch the idiot who set the token amounts in the face. Repeatedly.
I run premades maybe 30% of the time, the rest I PuG. And I don’t have that much of a problem with pugging, BUT the amount of scens needed is just retarded. Considering each scen takes at least 10 min, that’s some 16h just for 100 fused crests (which translates into 200 crests most of the time, if you’re like me you get 195 and ragequit cause you’re 5 crests short)!
Best advice I can come up with is only queue for Reikland Factory cause it’s over in some 5 minutes most of the time, but in my experience I lose that scen most of the time so maybe it’s not the best idea if you need medallions (or insignias or w/e). And try to get into a premade. Even a self made premade of randoms without vent is better than PuGging. Just have a decent setup with RR55+ folks.
Hello, I play a RR72 WP and I am 200 crests short of my Invader grade weapon. I hate scenarios.
I’m about to get my invader insignia trophy, then I will save for the entry level staff at 880 insignia. I just is a bit depressing working for them, since weeks go by and I feel I make little impact. Ho Hum.
